He is remembered as the “photographer of the Shroud”, because he was the first to have the privilege to impress on film the image of the “Holy Shroud”. He was a lawyer and a public administrator but his passion, photography, became his main activity. His archive, almost entirely stored by the Superintendency of Artistic and Historical Heritage of Turin, is a valuable historic testimony.
